HANAPEPE ART NIGHT EVERY FRIDAY

Locals and tourists alike have been enjoying this weekly art market since 1997.

Friday nights are the best times to wander through Hanapepe Town. All of the galleries are open and the shops and restaurants are bustling. Artists, musicians, and vendors of all types lining the main street makes for a wonderful night out.

Whether on a date or cruising with the family and friends, there’s a little something for everyone in Kauai’s “biggest little town”. Come get a taste of the entrepreneurial spirit that makes Hanapepe unique.

  • Booth Specifications:

    Booths are 10' x 10'. Tents are optional. Vendors must bring own tent, tables, tablecloths, chairs, and lighting if desired. No electricity will be available.

    Locations:

    Upon receipt of Vendor Application, required documents, and payment you will receive an email to choose your booth location. A map with specific vendor booth locations will be emailed one week prior to the event. Booth sales and space availability determines the flow of the event and placement within the town. Every effort is made to make it profitable and successful for everyone!

    Hanapepe Economic Alliance has provided two portable toilets with hand washing stations in the unit.

    We will have two onsite security guards to watch for suspicious activity and disorderly conduct to ensure a safe community event for all.

    Payment Processing:

    It is highly recommended that food & sales vendors provide customers a way to pay with credit card, such as Venmo, Square or Paypal credit card reader. No Wifi is available. Be prepared with a personal hotspot or bring a cash box (with change).

    Set Up & Break Down:

    Set up time starts at 4:00 PM. You must have booth supplies delivered to your space and vehicles moved to designated parking place by 4:30 PM. If you arrive past 4:30 PM you will not be able to drive up to your booth to unload. Friday Art Night officially starts at 5 PM. Parking is limited so our suggestion is to get to your location as early as possible for unloading, parking, and returning to set up your booth.

    Please be conscientious of your booth space, booth neighbors, and attendees. We also ask that your booth be organized in a way that is safe for everyone to enjoy. At the end of the event, kindly pick up and dispose of any trash that may have been left behind. Any trash leftover is subject to a fee. Please be sure to be set up and ready at the start of the event and to not begin tearing down until the event is over. Tear down starts at 8:00 PM and must be completed by 9:00 PM.​

    Event Timeline:

    UNLOADING: 4 PM - 4:30 PM

    SET UP: 4 PM - 5 PM

    EVENT: 5 PM - 8 PM

    BREAK DOWN: 8 PM - 9 PM

    Parking and Loading/Unloading:

    Depending on your booth location you can enter through one of the three entrances to Hanapepe; from the west and north side of Hanapepe Rd and Kona Rd. Vendors can use these streets to load in and load out but once again, we need you moved by 4:30 pm to clear main road. Safety for all is our #1 priority. Vendors may park in the lot next to NAPA, but only after 4:30pm. Parking can also be found along Hanapepe Town Park. Otherwise, parking will have to be secured by the vendor at a different location. You can walk supplies in from any entrance.

  • VENDOR APPLICATION ALONG WITH REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION AND PAYMENT MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LESS THAN 10 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

    Priority will be given in order to: HEA Members, Kauai Made Vendors, Kauai Grown Vendors followed by all others and space available.

    Vendors are required to be at the event from 5-8 pm. Setup starts at 4 pm and area should be clear by 9pm.

    Vending spaces are pre-assigned and vendors must set up in the assigned space.

    Vendors must stay in assigned space and not obstruct sidewalk, roadway, fire hydrants and handicap spaces.

    Vendors must pay the fee to reserve an approved space and receive Approved Vendor Placard.

    GET license, Insurance Certificate, and if applicable, State of Hawaii Health Certificate and Food Handler Certificate are required.

    After unloading, the vendor is not allowed to park their vehicles on Hanapepe Road.

    Vendors are responsible for their own trash disposal.

    You must supply your own table, chairs, lighting, and any other supplies.

    Music volume level must be respectful to all attendees. One entertainer at a time will be allowed within a one block radius.

    Friday Art Night is generally open 52 Fridays each year (except when a major holiday such as Christmas falls on a Friday).

    Vendors must notify the coordinator if they will not be able to participate on any assigned Friday.

    Violators of this agreement will cease operating their booth and forfeit their fee payment. They may also be barred from participating in future Art Night Events.

    The Hanapepe Economic Alliance reserves the right to amend rules as necessary.

  • Applicants will be reviewed by the Hanapepe Economic Alliance (HEA) and its agents.

    Approval is based upon space availability as well as the product/services provided.

    HEA or its agents have the right to determine what goods or services may be sold by the Registrant without liability to HEA or its agents.

    HEA or its agents have the right to to exclude a Registrant in consideration of participation for any reason without liability to HEA or its agents.

    Registrant in consideration of participation in Hanapepe Friday Art Night sponsored by HEA, individually, jointly, and in any representative or legal capacity, on behalf of Registrant, Registrant heirs, executors and/or administrators, does hereby waive, release, discharge and agree to hold harmless and indemnify HEA, its officers, agents, and sponsors from liability or loss of any claim for death, injury, or damage to property resulting directly or indirectly from the Registrants participation in the event.
